TASTE:
Notable presence of red fruits on the middle palate, soft tannins, balanced, excellent acidity, smooth and elegant on the palate with toasted notes, good aging potential.
MATCHING
Enjoy this awarded wine on its own or together with lids, plates grilled, baked or fried, roasted meats, cured meats (ham, sausage, etc.) and semi-cured and cured.
Serving temperature from 16 to 18º C.

PIQUERAS WINERY
4th generation family-owned winery founded in 1915 by the Piqueras family. The Piqueras Winery is located in Almansa, in the south east of Spain, 60 km from Alicante and the Mediterranean Sea.
The own vineyards are located in a wine production area of the D.O. Almansa is characterized by a land of low fertility and low rainfall that, together with a semi-arid continental climate, allows us to obtain wines with a high concentration of color and great aromatic richness.
Since the winery was founded by great-grandfather Luis in 1915, it has maintained the character of family ownership. History and tradition are reflected in the way the vineyards are cultivated, and quality wines are made for bottling and export to more than 45 countries.
VALTANO SYRAH
Vineyards at an altitude of 700-800 meters, 110-hectare single farm, 25-30-year-old trellis vines, organic farming methods, nutrient-poor soils rich in limestone, low rainfall.
Harvest: Nocturnal of the grapes with optimal ripening in mid-September.
Vinification: Total maceration for 3 weeks, fermentation with a gradual increase in temperature up to 29º C to obtain a good color followed by a gradual decrease to 23ºC to preserve the primary aromas of the fruit.
Type of barrel: American of fine grain and medium toast (300 L.).
Grape variety: 100% Syrah.
