Powerful but elegant Priorat wine, with a varietal composition of 60 percent Garnatxa and 40 percent Samsó (vinified separately), sourced from the terraced slate soils (llicorella) of the ‘Mas Alsera’ vineyard in the village of Torroja and the ‘Sant Martí’ vineyard in the village of Bellmunt (province of Tarragona / Catalunya). Aged for twelve months in French oak barrels of 225 and 500 liters (new and second use). Dark cherry-red in color with violet edges and abundant tears. Solid bouquet with intense fragrances of red berries, sweet spices, cocoa, licorice and a hint of graphite. The complex, well-balanced palate reveals ripe red fruit, a good acid structure, fine melted tannins and some oak tones. Long aftertaste with a slight balsamic touch. It is recommendable to decant one hour in advance. A very enjoyable bottle of wine ; drink it now and over the next 4-5 years.

Krachtige maar elegante Priorat-wijn, met een samenstelling van 60 percent Garnatxa en 40 percent Samsó (afzonderlijk gevinifieerd), geteeld op de terrasvormige leisteenwijngaarden (llicorella) van Torroja ('Mas Alsera') en Bellmunt ('Sant Martí' / provincie Tarragona / Catalunya). De wijn rijpte twaalf 12 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten van 225 en 500 liter (nieuw en tweede gebruik). Donker kersrood van kleur met wat violette schakeringen aan de rand, en overvloedig tranend. Stevige neus met intense aroma’s van rode bes, zachte kruiden, cacao, zoethout en een vleugje grafiet. Een complexe, fraai uitgebalanceerde wijn vol rijp rood fruit, met een degelijke aciditeitsstructuur, fijn versmolten tannines en wat nuances van eik. Lange afdronk met een lichte balsamische toets. Best een uur op voorhand te decanteren. Een zeer aangename fles wijn ; te drinken, nu en in de komende 4-5 jaar.
