TASTING NOTE
Colour
Clean, clear and bright. Intense maroon color with ruby reflections, where it has a high layer intensity. Very nice to look at.
AROMA:
On the nose is the absolute delicacy. The aromas of black fruit are present but are masked by a wide range of balsamic notes, hints of vegetables and minerals.
TASTE:
Mouth where it is viscerality is taken to absolute limits. Palate slightly greasy, and with a feeling of a large body, but the fresh and well-integrated tannins give it absolute lightness and elegance.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
In 1991 the winery building was renovated respecting the original structure and the first production was carried out, leaving its first wine on the market in 1993 under the name of Casa Castillo Crianza 1991.
Currently it is the third generation, with José Mª Vicente at the helm, the one in front of the winery. He had begun his architectural studies when, coinciding with the first vintage of the family winery, he abandoned his initial plans to devote himself fully to the world of wine. Restless and self-taught, his learning took place between France, Italy, Germany and Portugal. On these trips he did not look for the big wineries but for the small winegrowers who had a traditional philosophy.
This great Casa Castillo Cuvée N 2015 is a tribute to Nemesio Vicente, alma mater of the Murcian winery who died in April 2017. His son, Jose Mª Vicente, has made the jewel in the crown of Casa Castillo, a single-varietal Monastrell vineyard old small production, to remember his father and mentor. It is a huge wine with great storage and evolution capacity.
