TASTING NOTE
Colour
Clean and bright Garnet color with slightly orange reflections. Medium-low layer intensity. Very nice to look at.
AROMA:
Spectacular nose, where it is shown with an elegance, complexity and exemplary sophistication. It begins with floral, violet and pink notes, and where the orange peel presents itself with all its subtlety, and where little by little a range of aromas are opened, ending with really nice smoky ones.
TASTE:
Entry into the mouth with a lot of flavor, strength and the same elegance shown on the nose. It has a high alcohol content, but it has an incredibly smooth and easy-to-drink step by mouth. All finished with a long and persistent retro-taste.
MATCHING
Ideal to accompany it with cured cheeses, grilled red meats, Iberian ham and chocolate.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Spectacle is a wonderful red wine made in the D.O. Montsant by the winery Espectacle del Montsant. The winery is an atypical winery, a project formed by a group of experts from the world of wine with the aim of making a unique wine, a wine capable of transmitting all the sensations of a century-old vineyard. A real show The project consists of: René Barbier, prestigious winemaker of the D.O.Q Priorat responsible for great wines such as Clos Mogador. Isabelle Meyer, Rene's wife responsible for the image, public relations and publicity. Christopher Cannan, of British origin but with a great experience in the production of Priorat wines as demonstrated by his Clos Figueres. Fernando Zamora, advisor to several wineries in Priorat. And Marta Conde, graduated in biology with extensive experience as a technician in the Priorat.
Espectacle is a monovarietal made with the Garnacha Tinta variety, with grapes from a single estate. Finca Espectacle, a small farm of 2 hectares with steep slopes planted with century-old vineyards.
All the work in the vineyard is done manually. The harvest, with selection of grapes in the vineyard itself, is done in small boxes when the grapes are at their optimum ripeness. The grapes are transferred to the cellar and refrigerated at 4ºC for about 24 hours. After this time, the grapes are destemmed and a strict grain selection is made.
The fermentation takes place in a new vat of French oak of very fine grain with yeasts from the vineyard itself. A series of bazuqueos are applied to achieve the desired level of extraction of both color and tannins. Once the fermentation is finished, a maceration takes place between 4 and 5 weeks before aging, which lasts 14-16 months in the same tank.
Spectacle, as its name suggests, is simply spectacular. Garnachas centenarias, a great selection and a careful vinification that tries to extract the best of the wonderful terroir that sees it born. A great world-class wine
