INFORMATION OF INTEREST Thalarn 2016
Colour: Clean, clear and bright. Red color with violet reflections, medium layer intensity. Very nice to look at.
Aroma: It is presented with the intensity, complexity and elegance that characterizes the wines of Castell d'Encús. Floral aromas (lavender and blackcurrant), herbaceous and spicy (black peppercorn, white pepper and hints of vanilla) stand out
Taste: Entry in the mouth with balance, as they receive you in equal parts a crunchy silkiness and nerve. Fresh, lively and well-integrated tannins, with a very well-marked acidity. Retro-nasal where the species reappear. Long and persistent finish.
Stews, Grilled red meats, Meat rices, Roasted turkey, Iberian acorn-fed ham, Sheep cheese, Complex salads
Thalarn is a Syrah monovarietal produced from its own farm located in the municipality of Talarn, a small town in the Pyrenees, between 850 and 1000 meters above sea level. It is the winery that produces wines at higher altitudes in Spain. The vineyards are planted on calcareous loam soils, low in organic matter.
Regarding the elaboration, after manual harvesting in small boxes of 10 kg, the wine ferments in different materials, both in wooden vats and stainless steel tanks and in stone vats to obtain different nuances and great aromatic complexity. Subsequently, the wine carries out a malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels for 12 months.
This wine has not been clarified or filtered. We recommend decanting it to appreciate all its aromatic and gustatory power.

Per mi un dels grans vins catalans, aquest Thalarn, es una simfonía quasi perfecte pels sentits, fresc, excelent acidesa, molt mineral i retrogust infinit. Magnífic.
