It presents a wide and complex aromatic range in which the memories of red fruits, balsamic and spicy notes (eucalyptus, clove) blend harmoniously with the characteristic aromas of dried apricots and the nuances of cocoa and roasting imparted by the barrel.
Its palate is wide, meaty, and coated with sweet tannins of impeccable quality. The finish is very persistent, offering hints of India ink and leather.
The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
