Amador Medrano Parcela 14.8
INFORMATION OF INTEREST Amador Medrano Parcela 14.8
TASTING NOTE
Colour: Clean, clear and bright. Cherry red with ruby highlights. Medium layer intensity. Very nice to see.
Aroma: On the nose, it is complex and with good intensity, black fruits predominate (plums and blackberries with hints of figs) that little by little, give way to more spicy notes; black pepper, cloves and small brushstrokes of dark chocolate.
Taste: It enters the mouth with great firmness and accentuated warmth. The ripe fruit is again quite present, but with more compote sensations. Tannins present and alive but very well integrated. Long. broad and persistent.
MATCHING
A wine of good complexity, it can be perfect with baked lamb with potatoes and Provencal herbs, grilled suckling pig, wellington fillet, picantón (small chicken) stuffed with plums and bacon, knuckle with beer sauce and mashed potatoes.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
In 2008 the second generation of the Bodegas Medrano Irazu (Amador Medrano) thoroughly analyzed its vineyards, highlighting that those with higher altitudes produce less production, but a notable difference in quality.
It is when "Amador" selects these plots located at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria beginning to make wine individually.
In 2014 Amador Medrano decided to use this elaboration concept, striving more when it comes to caring for and harvesting it. Building the idea of a new project, in which, I would use these vineyards individually, consolidating this project as Amador Medrano estate wines.
