White flowers, apricot and peach on the nose, with intensity and elegance.

TASTE:

The palate is fresh, round and structured. It transports us to the terroir through its finesse. It maintains a pleasant and balanced acidity that makes us perceive it as round and fleshy.

It creates a perfect harmony with appetizers, foie gras or scrambled eggs and truffles, as well as with delicate fish.

Domaine Guigal was founded in 1946, by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis, a small village located in the Côte-Rotie appellation. The founder produced wines for 67 vintages in the area. A land with 24 centuries of history, worked by 3 generations of winemakers with family values at its core and a commitment to an illustrious land that produces prestigious wines. The Guigal family is committed to working to communicate the family's passion. In 1961 Marcel Guigal took over the management of the domaine, later joined by his wife. In 1975 his son Philippe joined the family, who is currently the winemaker of the domaine, and together with his wife, represents the third generation of the winery. Marcel and Philippe Guigal are currently in charge of Maison Guigal. The Château de Ampuis is their headquarters, having been acquired by the Guigal family in 1995, when it was registered as a national historic monument. The Guigal domaine was expanded in 2001 when it strengthened its position in Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage, in addition to Côte-Rôtie. In 2003, the Guigal family, eager to improve their wine expertise, embarked on the artisanal cooperage, so the new adventure of the barrel-making, at Château d'Ampuis. In 2017, they acquired a new Château, the Château de Nalys, in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and consolidated their position in the southern Rhône Valley.
