WHO CAN CONTRACT
Homer's Odyssey tells the story of Ulysses' 10-year journey back home after the Trojan War, an adventure of epic challenges. Moueix, inspired by Ulises' endless devotion to his mission, embarks on a new journey to produce a distinctive wine from the vineyards of Ulysses, in Oakville, California.
Located along Oakville Bank, at the foot of the Mayacamas mountain range, this historic vineyard was part of the Charles Hopper Ranch original in the 19th century, and was purchased by Moueix in 2008, who undertook a meticulous and lengthy restoration of the vineyard.
The soil is composed of deep and gravelly clay that is particularly well adapted to the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon, the main variety of the coupage to which small percentages of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are added.
Rainfed agriculture, the foundation of Ulysses' sustainable agricultural practices, increases the depth of roots and resistance to drought, resulting in a wine that is a pure expression of its terroir.
The 2012, the first vintage that goes on the market, is a wine finely sculpted with elegance and strength.
