One of the main characteristics that define the Navarra DO is the great diversity of landscapes and climates found in the more than 100 kilometers that separate the north of the area, located near Pamplona, from the south, nestled on the banks of the Ebro River.
Navarra has an exceptional situation, practically unique in the Iberian Peninsula: the confluence of the Atlantic, continental and Mediterranean climates. The proximity of the Bay of Biscay, the influence of the Pyrenees and the prosperity of the Ebro valley allow for this varied climate.
A circumstance that deeply marks the landscape of Navarre, where the more than 10,200 hectares of the Denomination of Origin Navarra are located in all types of ecosystems and cultivation situations: slopes, riverbanks, plateaus, plains, and which define 5 differentiated production areas: Baja Montaña, Valdizarbe, Tierra Estella, Ribera Alta and Ribera Baja.
