TASTING NOTE
Colour

Intense mahogany red with orange reflections, viscous and bright.

AROMA:

Complex and evolved, with aromas of dried fruit (figs, raisins, prunes), notes of caramel, vanilla and sweet spices, with a well-integrated toasted and oaky background.

TASTE:

Sweet and broad, with an acidity that perfectly balances the sweetness and brings freshness. Soft, silky tannins. Long, persistent finish with hints of cocoa, coffee and dried fruits.

MATCHING
Excellent with dark chocolate desserts, dried fruit cakes, blue cheeses such as Gorgonzola or Roquefort, foie gras, nougat and dried fruits. We would especially recommend it with a wide range of desserts, from afternoon treats with homemade biscuits and "grana de capellà", to traditional delicacies such as a marzipan ring cake or the iconic "Xuixo".
WHO CAN CONTRACT
The Massís de l'Albera winery is located in the village of Vilamaniscle, in the heart of the Albera massif. The founders of the project bring energy, experience and professionalism acquired over many years in the wine sector in the Empordà.
The vineyards are spread throughout the Albera massif, where the traditional varieties of the Empordà (Grenache and Carignan) play a leading role. Slate soils and a mountain climate imprint a strong character on their wines, the result of dedicated work in which respect for the territory is a priority.
Wine awarded the Vinari Bronze Prize 2020 (sweet wines).

Wines fortifieds designation of origin D.O. Empordà
The appellation of Origin Empordà is located on the northern-east of Catalonia. The territory is distributed in two regions and 55 villages. 35 belong to Alt Empordà and the remaining 20 belong to Baix Empodrà. The average annual production reaches the 65000 hectoliters of wine with a planted surface of around 2000 hectares. From its beginnings the denomination was called Empordà-Costa Brava, but in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was deleted.
