Colour

Pale yellow, with lemon reflections, bright, clean.

AROMA:

Frank, of good intensity, it is fragrant, enveloping, primary aromas of green, fresh fruits (apple, lemon pear), certain vegetable registers, freshly cut aromatic herbs from the forest.

TASTE:

Fresh, a step through the mouth and a long, dry finish. Pleasant, very characteristic, soft and light wine, citrus and green notes (lemon apple fuji). Easy, characteristic local white.

Light dishes, fish, shellfish, grilled mollusks, steamed (steamed rock mussels, Galician octopus, clams in green sauce, grilled cockles). Infinity of dishes from the local Empordanesa, Catalan and Mediterranean gastronomy. Excellent with seafood rice, paellas, fideuas in general.

Service temperature from 6 to 8º C.

The Mas Eugeni Winery is located on the slopes of Rocas de Ronquillo, specifically in the Fondils area, which gives its name to the wines, on the southern slope of the municipality of Calonge. It is not known exactly the first wine made on the farm, there is a stone on the facade of the 162X as the year of construction of the new farmhouse, since the human settlement that makes up the farm has a previous construction used as a current boot cellar. Construction of which the year is unknown and there is no physical evidence that says they made wine, as if it happens with the seventeenth century settlement, where the tub is preserved, built on the very foundations of the house, communicating below scale, today walled up, with the boot cellar.
In the old tub is where the family wine is pressed, until the seventies of the 20th century when it was decided to press outside the home, specifically in Can Jaques, a winery that provided its services to most of the town.
With the entrance of the new millennium is when the winery acquires its own press and the first tank to better control the fermentation of the wine. Years before, a gradual process of replacing meadows and pastures for vine and olive trees had already begun. Noble varieties were chosen for replanting, exactly Merlot, Garnacha or Llerdoner, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Currently vineyards and winery are registered in the DO Empordà, and make white, red and rosé wines.
