Colour

Clean and bright. Dark ruby color with orange reflections with medium layer intensity. Very pleasing to the eye.

AROMA:

In the nose, one looks delicately extraordinary. Aromas to roasted and certainly smoked, due to its long aging and stay in French oak casks, ending with notes of sweet spices where vanilla is the protagonist.

TASTE:

Dry mouth entry, but showing a certain softness at the same time. Perfectly integrated tannins that give off a sensational balance. Evolved, long and persistent.

It came with an indisputable delicacy and finesse, a perfect companion with grilled meat and fish dishes without strong garnishes. Also ideal as "dessert" wine paired with chocolate and pastry cream.

Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva is a red wine produced by Viña Tondonia winery in the D.O. Rioja This winery is located in Haro (Rioja Alta) one of the most prestigious and privileged enclaves for the cultivation of the vine. Viña Tondonia is a historic winery, it was the first winery in Haro and the third in Rioja. The exceptional quality of its wines is the authentic testimony of its 137 years of experience. It is formed by a coupage of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo varieties. The grape comes from vineyards of low yield of more than a century old vineyard Tondonia. The harvest is done manually, bunch by bunch, in poplar wood containers made in the winery itself. Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva is aged for 10 years in oak barrels from the cooperage shop of the winery itself and is subjected to 2 racking per year. In its final stage it is clarified with fresh eggs from farms in the area and bottled unfiltered. Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva is a classic of La Rioja. An excellent fine and elegant wine, one of the maximum exponents of the long barrel aging. It is an example of tradition, of knowledge passed down from generation to generation.
