TASTING NOTE
Colour

Clean, clear and bright. Cherry color with garnet reflections, where it has an intensity of medium - high layer. Very nice to look at.

AROMA:

On the nose it is a candy that mesmerizes you from the first contact. It is the intensity and complexity in balance, linking aromas of cherries, plums, blackberries and figs evolved into jam, and where they are sprayed with hints of nutmeg, cloves and more subtly licorice, and all driven by small brushstrokes of 'a delicious wood.

TASTE:

Mouth where elegance is the distinguishing feature of this wine. Voluptuous on the palate and slightly fleshy, it is harmonized with a freshness, ripe tannins and slightly sweet.

MATCHING
Ideal to pair with red and game meats, cod with ratatouille, tagliatelle with ragout sauce, cream cheeses, mushroom cream, stuffed eggplant, etc.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
This producer, founded in 1952, is named after the legendary Porto matriarch Dona Antónia Ferreira. She was affectionately nicknamed 'Ferreirinha' by her countrymen, and Casa Ferreirinha, the first producer in the region dedicated to making light wines, pays homage to her memory. Purchased by Sogrape in 1987, it has 520 hectares of vineyard in the Douro in all of its three sub-regions: Baixo Corgo, Cimar Corgo and Douro Superior. The winemaking is headed up by Luís Sottomayor, who restrains the Douro’s natural exuberance to produce wines that have a freshness allied to a lovely depth and texture.

Wines reds designation of origin D.O.C. Porto/Douro
Vinho do Porto is a renowned sweet wine from Portugal, commercialized and consumed all over the world. The name becomes from Porto, city whose port shipped the wines abroad. The vines cultivation is located on the north of the country, previous to the posterior vinification, at the Alto Douro region. The Douro River (Duero) flows between the Marao and Montemuro ranges. Cold winters and dry and hot summers. Nowadays the wines can be aged at the Alto Douro region, but until 1986 the ageing only was permitted at the town of Vilanova de Gaia, close to Porto.
