WHO CAN CONTRACT
Le Carillon d'Angélus is the second wine of Château Angélus. It was born with the 1987 harvest and represents 20 to 30% of the production of the property depending on the years. It is the result of a variable percentage of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, collected in part in unclassified plots, with clay-calcareous and sandy-clay-calcareous soils. The vineyards receive the same care as those produced by Château Angélus. In his harvest and vinification, an effort of selection and precision similar to that of his older brother is used. Following this spirit, its aging in barrels has been adapted over time, with a somewhat shorter duration and only one half of new wood. In this way, Le Carillon d'Angélus obtains its own identity, with a medium guard potential, and is appreciated for its fruit aromas (plum, cherry) and its velvety tannins.

The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
