Colour
Intense cherry color.
AROMA:
Complex wine with an expression of red and black fruits surrounded by balsamic notes, cocoa and dried tobacco leaf. We can also find smoky notes.
TASTE:
On the palate we find fine and silky teninos wrapped by a long and persistent finish.
MATCHING
Red wine to pair with grilled red meats, stews or cured sausages.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Carme Casacuberta, with a degree in Chemical sciencies and winemaker, together with his husband Antoni Pena, industrial engineer, moved by their passion for wine launched in 2002 the project Olivardots in the term of Capmany. Located in a unique area and enclosed in 4 hectares of vine, in 2006 they built up the winery, designed to work with the help of the gravity, and adding new techniques to preserve the traditional working systems. Vinyes d'Olivardots currently has 9 hectares of vineyard owned.
GRESA EXPRESSIÓ:
Varieties: Cariñena (30%), Garnacha (30%), Syrah (30%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%).
Viticulture: Ecological under the principles of biodynamics, through rigorous manual work in the vineyard and focusing efforts on the recovery of autochthonous varieties.
Harvest and Production: Manual collection in 10 kg boxes, making a first selection in the vineyard and a second grain by grain in the winery. Cold pre-maceration (4ºC).
Vinification in red, long maceration and combined fermentation in stainless steel vats and French oak foudres, controlled temperature of 26º. Very low pressure pressing with a vertical hydraulic press. Aged for 18 months in French oak Bordeaux barrels, combining fine and extra-fine grain to obtain more complexity.
