WHO CAN CONTRACT
Brunello is produced in Montalcino, the best place in the world to grow the Sangiovese grape variety, since it is a grape grown in Montalcino for hundreds and perhaps thousands of years. Thanks to the climate and the soil it has acquired specific characteristics: it produces a low yield of grapes with small bunches and small berries, for this reason, it is possible to create in Montalcino a great red wine suitable for long aging, such as Brunello Di Montalcino. Casoto Prime Donne, where this Brunello de Montalcino comes from is a property made up of 40 hectares where the ancestors of the current owner used to go hunting. It was part of a large farm belonging to one of the most important families in Montalcino that for more than 4 centuries had cultivated this land passing it through the family line, during the last generations from mother to daughter, since they belonged to Donatella Cinelli, the grandmother of Colombini, after his mother, and in the future it will belong to his daughter, Violante Gardini. To start the property was called Casato, the name was changed to Casato Prime Donne in 1998 when Donatella received the property and decided to create here the first winery in Italy to have female staff. They produce bottles, from 15,000 to 40,000 depending on the harvest, and each year for the production of Brunello only the most suitable grapes are chosen.
