TASTING NOTE
Colour

Clean and bright Cherry color with lightly garnet reflections. Very nice to look at.

AROMA:

On the nose, it expresses attractive floral aromas, where highlights a lavender, which is assembled with a perfect balance with notes of incense. They are combined, with cherries and raspberries, spaced touches and with an extraordinary minerality where the terroir is the main protagonist.

TASTE:

In the mouth, it is very well structured, with fantastically ripe, tasty tannins, all with a sensational balance. It ends up being long, persistent and with an acidity that makes it incredibly fresh.

MATCHING
Red meats on the grill, roasted red meats, civet, big game, cured cheeses, Iberian ham.

Serving temperature: Serve between 16 and 18ºC.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Descendants of J. Palacios arrives at the Bierzo in 1999 with the illusion of exalting the wine charms of a region of absolute historical-religious origin. After the important Roman dominion (the gold mines of Las Médulas), the Bierzo becomes an obligatory rest stop on the hard pilgrimage on the way to Santiago de Compostela, which produced so much attraction in European Christianity. from the 11th century, and attended by kings, princes and saints. It is during its maximum splendor, from the twelfth century, when a true ecclesiastical settlement in the region develops, giving rise to the coexistence of innumerable religious orders. It would be these monks of northern Europe who would develop this special viticulture that, with the symbiosis of wisdom, precision and time, has remained unchanged to this day, offering us the uniqueness of a unique black grape: La Mencía, and an incomparable viticultural heritage for its roots and personality.

Located in the attractive town of Corullón, Álvaro Palacios and his nephew Ricardo Pérez Palacios cultivate 15 hectares of very old vineyards on their property, following the discipline of biodynamics in search of definition and purity. These vineyards are distributed in about sixty small plots with very diverse exposures and on different altitudes, due to the orography composed of slopes with steep slopes. The origin of the soil formation belongs to the lower Cambrian period, characterized by a structure of pure laminar and thick slate rock, very mineral, with quartzites, sandstones and clays, combining a horizontal and oblique arrangement with respect to earth, an aspect that accentuates the character of the terroir. The continental climate of Atlantic influence and the rainfall, over 600 mm per year, of this green and mountainous region, reflects the freshness and fragrance in its wines of important depth, volume and this lively and juicy sensation of cherry pulp. within a silky, friendly texture and character.
