TASTING NOTE
Colour

Bright ruby red but very dark, his rim is a beautiful purple.

AROMA:

Deep in the nose while very pure, vibrant flavours of cherry, blackcurrants, very ripe berries and more evolved aromas such as graphite, cedar and liquorice.

TASTE:

The palate offers an unexpected strength, along with a structured acidity and firm tannins. Everything is in balance and the wine has a velvety taste, rich in all its aspects. This is an outstanding Ducru that combines grace and best body.

MATCHING
Its characteristics, which place him among the great wines, we suggest it will be a perfect partner for those meat dishes (beef, lamb, etc.) more demanding.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
The Chateau Beaucaillou, usually called Ducru-Beaucaillou, name of its former owner M. Ducru. His story, like many large Crus, dates from the late seventeenth to early eighteenth century. At the time of the Revolution, M. Bergeron was the owner. M. Nathaniel Johnston, who belongs to a famous family of Bordeaux wine merchants buy the domain to the Ducru-Ravez in 1866. The Johnston's greatly improved with its enlargement. Always on the lookout for new technologies were surrounded by highly competent managers and leading architects. The two pavilions Victorian spanning proudly main house was built at that time. In 1929 the domain was owned for 12 years by M. Desbarats-de-Burke, who gave it to M. Francis Boire. His son Jean-Eugène and his family are now the owners. The vineyards known as "des beaux caillous" spread in 50 acres of beautiful rounded peaks parallel to the Gironde, with a beautiful park with trees near to the river. Wine is the aim of a constant and meticulous care, nothing is enough to get the highest quality. Ducru-Beaucaillou is considered by scholars as the quintessential wine of Bordeaux and the Medoc region in particular.
