TASTING NOTE
Colour

Black, chocolate tones with mahogany highlights.

AROMA:

Large, complex and elegant. Notes to raisins and figs with cocoa, dates and coffee nuances. Background of nuts.

TASTE:

Structured, dense and oily. Exquisite step on mouth reminiscent to raisins, dried figs, honey and coffee. Long, sweet finish.

MATCHING
Perfect on its own. Good with chocolate, and with any kind of fruit.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Very old wine coming from the oldest criadera (Pedro Ximénez) of the winery. Made from raisined grapes to the sun, with oxidative ageing by the system of "criaderas y soleras". Their 284 years of history, Bodegas Alvear has retained its family character, conveying ownership of parents to children so that, today, the ownership of the company is in the hands of the eighth generation. It is one of the companies of more prestige and international recognition of Andalusia. The winery has extensive vineyards located in the most famous places of the Sierra de Montilla and Moriles (Córdoba). A historic wine cellar that has managed to implement a land and a family experience.

The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
