Golden yellow with golden reflections, bright, pleasing to the eye.

AROMA:

Very complex, good power, very aromatic, aromas of stone fruits (peach, loquat, apricot). Interesting the union with the aromas of elaboration very well integrated, fine lees and very subtle smoked, toasted from the barrel, roasted.

TASTE:

Very harmonious, balanced, with flavor, body, elegant, fine, subtlety, round in the mouth, ripe fruits, yellow apple, vegetable and tasty perfume with creaminess, creamy cocoa, vanilla, toasted pine nuts.

Flavored dishes, dishes from Mediterranean, Empordanese cuisine. Grilled vegetables (Escalivada with virgin olive oil of the native argudell variety of the DO oli d 'Empordà), the traditional stewed fish dishes, also the rice with seafood (fideua, "arrossejat de fideus")

Old writings with more than 700 years old credit the Roig family as land owners, presumably vineyards and olive groves, in Garriguella and documents from the 19th century already record the activity of making and trading wines, snacks and spirits at that time , activity that lasted until the 60s of the last century. In the year 2000, with the conviction that the Empordà is a privileged territory to obtain wines with personality and of the highest quality, it was decided to resume the production of wine from grapes from their own vineyards, with the construction of the new winery.

The farm has 45 ha. vineyard; of this surface, 8 ha are very old vineyards, between 60 and more than 110 years old. The lands, located at the foot of the Sierra de la Albera, are slaty on the slopes, with a clay-loam texture, acidic, poor in organic matter and well drained.

Mas Llunes is a small family winery that combines tradition with modernity.

It works with indigenous varieties such as Garnacha and Cariñena and the attention of the vineyards is extreme, since the secret of quality is taking care of the raw material.
Here it is said that an extraordinary grape comes out of some extraordinary vineyards. And from an extraordinary grape comes an exceptional wine. This is the main reason why only wines from their own vineyards are produced, some over a hundred years old.
Following the rules of integrated production, the effort is to obtain wines with personality and a strong Empordà character and the 125,000 bottles that are produced annually are the fruit of this way of understanding wine.

Varieties: White Cariñena 100%.
Preparation: This variety comes from the selection of vines from a vineyard over 70 years old in the Fontanilles area planted on slate land. The must was macerated with the skins of the grape for three hours, then drained by gravity and fermented in a stainless tank. It is a white without passage through wood. It is a delicate, soft, fresh, elegant and mineral wine.
