Colour

bright yellow color with golden reflections

AROMA:

Concentrated and deep wine, with rich aromas of vanilla, fresh butter and subtle notes of praline very characteristic of the variety.

TASTE:

Endowed with an elegant fruit structure it exhibits a fine acidity of apple that is a guarantee of life, a Chardonnay capable of maturing from 3 to 15 years in the bottle: intense, long, warm, expressive.

Sole with meunière, lobster, scallops, crab, sashimi, pumpkin risotto, chicken, turkey, soft cheeses.

Aquest vi deu el seu nom a la filla gran d'Angelo i Lucia Gaja, GAIA, i l'àvia d'Angelo, Clotilde REI.

Gaia & Rei es produeix a partir de dues vinyes a les àrees de Barbaresco i Barolo: una de les vinyes va ser plantada a Treiso el 1979 i l'altra a Serralunga d'Alba, el 1989. Aquesta última vinya aporta més acidesa i estructura al vi .
Les 3,6 ha. estan consagrades a la noble varietat blanca chardonnay. Els sòls pobres en potassi i nitrogen, contribueixen a limitar el vigor dels ceps. Utilitzant una major densitat de plantació (5.500 peus per hectàrea) s'ha aconseguit, alhora, una menor producció dels ceps, reduint els rendiments a 30 hl / ha.
