TASTING NOTE
Colour
It is cloudy due to no previous filtering. Yellow with slightly golden reflections.
AROMA:
On the nose, if you want to enjoy it with all your senses, we make a small recommendation: opt for it, because it improves with all aspects. An exceptional balance between fruit and sherry notes, along with small contributions of toasted nuts.
TASTE:
Mouth with an eclectic personality. Passing with depth and breadth almost chewable, but filled with a freshness that makes it alive and crunchy. Long and persistent finish.
MATCHING
Good wine versatility. Legumes, spicy dishes, fish stews, risottos, white meats, rice, etc.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Els Bassots is a natural white wine from the D.O Conca de Barberà made by the Escoda - Sanahuja winery, and is a monovarietal wine from Chenin Blanc.
The grapes used come from a single vineyard, which in fact is what gives the wine its name. Located between Prenafeta and Montblanc, at an altitude of about 450 meters, the soils are clayey and calcareous, and the agriculture is biodynamic and the production of wine completely natural. It should be noted that this method of vinification causes the final wine to be different from the wines we are used to drinking; the odor, characteristic and usually strong, can be seen increased by impurities present in the liquid. It is the inevitable result of not carrying out any filtration or clarification and carrying out the fermentations with natural yeasts from the vineyard.
Beyond the natural method, Els Bassots follows the elaborate processes that were used decades ago, when the so-called "brisats" whites were produced, so the fermentations were carried out with the same skins (as is done with blacks). , more complex and more intensely colored wines. Next, the last important part is that Els Bassots is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels before final bottling.
