TASTING NOTE
Colour

Garnet red with colour tiles. The tear of this wine is tainted.

AROMA:

It has intense aromas of wild fruit and elegant spice tones accompanied by roasted and snuff.

TASTE:

The mouth is very powerful, glyceric and enveloping, powerful and tannic with a beautiful expression. Retronasal aromas with very fine nose, but smoother.

MATCHING
Admits in his marriage and game meat, both grilled and roasted and stewed, pastes, creams and soups made with vegetables and some beans with ham or bacon cabbage, fish such as hake in sauce or fish stew. Its enormous potential to allow you to combine elaborate recipes where you can appreciate the full extent the brilliance of this great wine.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
It’s the international reference when talking about Spanish wine, so this is the most historic house in international wine auctions. The Alvarez family bought the winery in 1982, founded since 1864, giving a contribution and a much more open and modern character at the warehouse, expanding its range with some news and younger wines, like Bodegas Alion, from Ribera del Duero and the Bodegas Pintia in Toro. They also acquired the winery Oremus Tokaji in Hungary. Under the guidance of the winemakers Begoña Jovellar and Xavier Ausàs, has become the biggest name of the above holds.

The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
