WHO CAN CONTRACT
The Tasca d'Almerita winery is a wine producer with vineyards spread throughout Sicily.
Although the company's history dates back to 1830, it wasn't until the 1950s that the owner, Count Guiseppe Tasca, began to focus on quality, rather than bulk production. Today, its wines are exported to four continents.
The Regaleali main estate, where this wine comes from, owns 550 hectares in the heart of Sicily and has been owned by the Tasca d'Almerita family since 1830. The estate is located in the mountainous center of Sicily. This estate is where the grapes for the winery's flagship, Rosso del Conte, a reserve wine made from the Italian Nero d'Avola variety, are grown.
Over the years, another 4 farms have been added:
Capofaro, in Salina, Tascante on Etna, the historic farm
Whitaker on the ancient island of Mozia and Sallier de La Tour, in
Monreale.
Around 20 different local and international grape varieties are planted in Tenuta Regaleali. These range from the native Sicilian variety Perricone to international ones like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
Winemaking processes differ between properties, as grape varieties and terroir vary considerably. Both traditional and contemporary techniques are applied. The company holds several Sicilian sustainability certifications.
