Wines fortifieds variety Monastrell
Originating in the Bordeaux region and one of the most important grape varieties in the world. Product of a cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, has a high tannin concentration and good acidity. The wines usually have an average alcohol content and a deep bluish red. Aromas of redcurrant and plums, hints of chocolate and dried grass if it has been in cask, or the typical hints of green pepper when the ripening of the grapes is insufficient.
