TASTING NOTE
Colour

Cherry red with garnet reflections.

AROMA:

Lots of black fruit on the nose, elegant notes in ink showing a discretion of herbs and minerals and hints of licorice.

TASTE:

Wonderfully complex, fine and elegant bouquet. Velvety texture, wonderful palate, concentrated leading to a long, full of chocolate and licorice.

MATCHING
Perfect with blue cheeses, perfect with chocolate cake and berries.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Since its foundation in 1692, Taylor has been dedicated to making the finest Port. The house remains entirely focused on Port production and specialised in its premium styles. Unlike most other producers, it does not market any other wine. Taylor is committed to remaining independent and family owned. Family ownership guarantees the continuity of purpose required to make wines of quality and character. It also preserves a priceless inheritance of experience and skill passed down through the generations over more than three centuries.

I know this product since almost 10 years and I like it a lot.
Fruit, tannins, persistency and length to the palate.
This vintage was rated 92 by Wine Spectator as well as 2010 and just 1 point below 2009 which are vintages I love.
I'm intended to wait some years befor drinking it, but I'm sure it will satisfy both my taste and my soul.

Wines fortifieds designation of origin D.O.C. Porto/Douro
Vinho do Porto is a renowned sweet wine from Portugal, commercialized and consumed all over the world. The name becomes from Porto, city whose port shipped the wines abroad. The vines cultivation is located on the north of the country, previous to the posterior vinification, at the Alto Douro region. The Douro River (Duero) flows between the Marao and Montemuro ranges. Cold winters and dry and hot summers. Nowadays the wines can be aged at the Alto Douro region, but until 1986 the ageing only was permitted at the town of Vilanova de Gaia, close to Porto.
