TASTING NOTE
Colour

New gold, clean and bright.

AROMA:

Special, delicate, fragrant, different. Elegant floral notes of honey, candied fruit and caramelized almonds. Fund gently roasted.

TASTE:

Structured, very good balance between sweetness and acidity. Satiny mouth feel with hints of floral, citrus and spicy. Long and persistent. A must for lovers of the noble rot wines.

MATCHING
Spectacular accompanied by foie gras and blue cheese. Ideal with desserts pastries and cakes. Suitable for oysters and asparagus.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Raymond-Lafon is located in the southern part of France’s Bordeaux wine region in the district of Graves, immediately north of Sauternes' most historically rated vineyard, Château d'Yquem, east of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey and Château Clos Haut-Peyraguey, and south of Château Suduiraut. The celler is presently owned by the Meslier family, run by brothers Jean-Pierre and Charles-Henri and sister Marie-Françoise. The vineyard area extends 18 ha of which 16 ha is under vine. The grape variety distribution is 80% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon blanc of vines with an average age of 35 years. The wine is aged for three years in oak before bottling.

The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
