To the eye, it shows a magnificent golden color and as it ages its reflections become more amber.
Aromas of lime blossom and almond abound on the nose, gradually evolving into baked apple and toast as the years go by.
On the palate, pineapple, mango, lychees and an assortment of other exotic fruits appear along with hints of butter and truffle. It has a long persistence on the palate. It has long life, and would gain in complexity and refinement in about 10 years, but it can be enjoyed now, as it will show us a more vibrant wine.
The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
