TASTING NOTE
Colour

Clean, clear and bright. Straw yellow color with golden reflections. Very nice to look at.

AROMA:

On the nose it is faithful to its terrain. Aromas of white fruit and floral are the first to welcome. Next, there are the herbs stuffed with hints of anise that give it the balsamic part, and all finished with small sprouts of toasted nuts.

TASTE:

Extremely fresh and well-balanced on the palate. Creamy on the palate but with a very well defined acidity provided by Chenin Blanc. Intense, long and persistent finish. Clean, clear and bright. Straw yellow color with golden reflections. Very nice to look at.

WHO CAN CONTRACT
The recovery of a Cellers Scala Dei classic. Massipa is the re-edition of one of the wines from the winery that was previously known as “Blanc de Scala Dei”. With this Crianza wine we aim to show the freshest face of the Grenache Blanca del Priorat. By tasting the wine from the 1991 vintage and checking its conservation after all this time, we decided to resume its winemaking from the same vineyard.

Grenache and Chenin are harvested at the same time: Grenache is at the ripening point that we consider appropriate, and Chenin helps us to maintain acidity. Once in the winery, the two varietals are pressed together, the must is racked and transferred to a concrete tank where it will ferment at a controlled temperature of 16-18 ºC with indigenous yeasts. Once the fermentation is finished, it is transferred to remove the thick lees and only the fine ones remain. During the first two months of aging, a battonage is performed per week and remains in the tank; after two months, a static aging begins with the lees at the bottom of the foudre.
