Colour

Intense yellow with golden reflections, bright.

AROMA:

Of remarkable intensity, being complex, a union of olfactory sensations, white stone fruits such as peaches, notes of fuji apple, loquat, some light vegetable memories, peppermint, fresh grass together with memories of their time in barrels, smoked, new fine wood , elegant, subtle, vanilla sensation, freshly roasted nuts.

TASTE:

Long and broad wine in the mouth, very well structured, alive with life, it is a wine that can surely improve in the bottle, always in good storage conditions. Tactile-buccal sensation of unctuousness, glyceric, fine lactic, elegant, creamy with memories of ripe pineapple, caramelized toasted sugar. Good persistence in aftertaste.

MATCHING
Proximity dishes such as fish and shellfish from the Mediterranean coast, cooked in different processes, baked, stewed, in rice dishes. Also sensational with creamy tender pasta cheeses, smoked fish also pair well with this wine.

Service temperature from 10º to 12º C.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
The story begins in 1996, when Jaume Serra and Silvia Vilà, after finishing their studies in Oenology and Economics respectively, decided to launch their own winemaking adventure and life project, starting to make a few bottles from the little vineyard Garnacha that the grandfather had planted in 1961. Other varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Marsselan ... populate part of the 13 hectares that today make up the Masia Serra estate.
Jaume's visit to the emblematic Château Petrus in Bourdeaux, marked the path they wanted to follow from the beginning. Likewise, the experience acquired over the years dedicated to wine consultancy throughout the territory, has provided them with an important baggage of knowledge. Jaume grew up in a family with deep-rooted winemaking traditions, the grandson of a wine merchant and the son of the well-known winemaker Simón Sierra.

Elaboration:
Manual harvest. The de-stemmed grape is placed in stainless steel maceration tanks (6-8 hours, at 10º C.), in a stainless steel tank. It is then transferred to Allier French oak barrels (châteaux type) to finish fermenting. It ages for 3 months in the same barrels, where the well receives a regular "bâtonnage".
Aged White / 100% White Grenache. Vineyard plantation in 1961. Limited production.

Wines whites designation of origin D.O. Empordà
The appellation of Origin Empordà is located on the northern-east of Catalonia. The territory is distributed in two regions and 55 villages. 35 belong to Alt Empordà and the remaining 20 belong to Baix Empodrà. The average annual production reaches the 65000 hectoliters of wine with a planted surface of around 2000 hectares. From its beginnings the denomination was called Empordà-Costa Brava, but in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was deleted.
