TASTING NOTE
Colour

It has an intense yellow appearance with bright shades.

AROMA:

The nose offers aromas of lemon and pear, mainly, and hints at the complexity that we will find on the palate.

TASTE:

Its palate is balanced and harmonious, with rich and exuberant flavors. Its depth surpasses the Les Pucelles block, it is very refined and as good as the Bâtard, its big brother, the Grand Cru.

MATCHING
This Chardonnay creates an excellent harmony with white meats, as well as with blue and cured cheeses and smoked meats with a certain amount of greasiness.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Joseph Leflaive (1870-1953) graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique at age 20. After his marriage, he ran the La Chaléassière metallurgical factory, at the same time looking after the family vines in Puligny-Montrachet. Starting in 1920, Joseph Leflaive undertook a programme of replanting, extension and enhancement of the vineyard, and tried new rootstocks that were better adapted to each block of land, Joseph Leflaive gradually began selling his wine under his own label and to his private clientele.

The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
