WHO CAN CONTRACT
La Maison Pierre Mignon is located in Le Breuil, the birthplace of Pinot Meunier, in the Marne Valley. Coming from a long line of winemakers, for 5 generations, the Maison Pierre Mignon produces Champagnes of Exception within the purest respect for traditions, while privileging innovation.
The 16-hectare vineyard stretches between the best "crus de la Champagne" (the Marne Valley, the "Côte des Blancs", the Epernay region). The vineyard variety consists mostly of Pinot Meunier (60%) and is completed with the Chardonnay present in 30% of the plots and the Pinot Noir that covers 10% of the exploitation.
The uniqueness and diversity of the terroirs allow to elaborate Great Champagnes of character.
The official production area of Champagne comprises 35,280 hectares. And there are 357 classified municipalities: there were 319 until in 2008 there was an expansion of the production area. This classification is known as Échelle des Crus or rating system to determine the prices of grapes in the Champagne area. This law delimited the vineyard by classifying it into GRAND CRU, PREMIER CRU and CRU, depending on the viticultural history of each town and the quality of its vineyards. This gave meaning to the terroir concept since each vineyard is different and is determined by a unique profile based on soil, height, inclination and orientation.
