Viña Tondonia Reserva
INFORMATION OF INTEREST Viña Tondonia Reserva 2006
Colour: Clean and bright. Ruby color with slightly orange reflections shows an average layer intensity. Very pleasing to the eye.
Aroma: In the nose, it is presented with an enveloping fineness and complexity. Its captivating freshness from the first contact in the glass. It gives off mild aromas of ripe fruit and fresh fruit, which are combined with a wonderfully pleasant fusion, subtly spicy notes, where sweet as vanilla and roasted take the final attention. Once again we have before us an undisputable wine with a sensational vintage.
Taste: In the mouth where the palate gets stroked, it is not a complex and very bodied wine, yes, it offers a wonderful experience for the senses: it is a refined wine, where elegance prevails above all, nervously and fresh , all sensationally tuxed with tannins integrated with a total perfect consonance.
This wine is perfect for serving it with meat dishes, which, tastefully, are not extremely strong. We need dishes of a finesse and elegance that can be at the same height as the great wine that we have before us. Perfect with, a grilled beef steak, duck magret with figs, and sensational with a good assortment of cheese.
Viña Tondonia Reserva is a red wine produced by Viña Tondonia winery in the D.O. Rioja This winery is located in Haro (Rioja Alta) one of the most prestigious and privileged enclaves for the cultivation of the vine. Viña Tondonia is a historic winery, it was the first winery in Haro and the third in Rioja. The exceptional quality of its wines is the authentic testimony of its 137 years of experience.
Viña Tondonia Reserva is made from the Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo varieties, all from the Viña Tondonia estate, a well-known Rioja farm of 100 hectares located on the right bank of the Ebro River on its way through Haro. Viña Tondonia, which is known as one of the most spectacular of Haro, forms a landscape of alluvium, limestone and poplars.
Viña Tondonia Reserva begins with a manual harvest during the month of October. After the fermentation process Viña Tondonia makes a long aging of 6 years in oak barrels from the cooperage workshop of the winery itself.
During the aging time the wine is subjected to 2 racking per year. In the final stage of the process, a clarification is made with fresh eggs from farms in the area. Finally it is bottled without filtering and it rests in the bottle for a minimum of 6 months before leaving the cellar.
As a result we have one of the greatest exponents of the classic style in La Rioja.
