Colour
Clean and bright Cherry red color with bluish highlights. Medium-high layer intensity. Very nice to look at.
AROMA:
Entry into the nose with very good intensity, the youth of the wine is denoted by the explosion of fruit aromas, where red and black fruit predominate, with slightly earthy notes and a balsamic background.
TASTE:
The palate is broad, with a very pleasant freshness. Predominate the mineral sensations so characteristic of the Priorat. With a long and very persistent ending.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Serras del Priorat is one of those wines that is almost mandatory to know if one wants to understand where things are going in the current Priorat. The Cannan family makes this wine in Gratallops, in one of the most prestigious corners of the DOQ, with the autochthonous Garnacha and Cariñena plus a slight contribution of the international Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Up to here everything more or less normal; The surprise comes when you open a bottle of Serras and see the wine in the glass.
Its layer is more fragile than is usual in the region but the tear remains slow and dense. The olfactory impact is magical, it is one of those wines that force us to release some expression of surprise, of satisfaction when we smell it. One smells it, moves away from the glass to look at it again and immediately wants to smell it again. It smells of freshness, elegance, pomegranate, wild strawberries, but also Priorat, there lies magic. It displays a good tannin, but even this one is kind; It has a fantastic acidity but without being sharp, it is pure balance. Balsamic, Frenchified, floral, with wild memories and refreshing touches of tangerine skin.
Far, far away, there are those bulks laden with alcohol, color and tannins and, even farther, the voices of those who believed that the Priorat would be unable to give fine and elegant wines. If you know someone who still has the slightest doubt about it, do not stop offering a glass of Serra del Priorat and, if you resist, a sip of Clos Figueres, the top wine of the winery, will undoubtedly serve to convince you fully.
