TASTING NOTE
Colour

Clean and bright Deep purple with blue reflections. Of medium / high layer. Very nice to look at.

AROMA:

Impressive nose entrance, where it is shown with a perfect balance, an admirable intensity and concentration. Aromas of red seeds perfectly combined with a base of sweet spices appear.

TASTE:

In the mouth, it is shown with an intensity and elegance for equals. Where it combines the volume with perfectly integrated and well textured tannins. The finish is long, persistent, balanced and fresh. It is a terroir wine that perfectly reflects its origin.

WHO CAN CONTRACT
Vinha da Ponte is one of the centuries-old plots of vineyards in Quinta do Crasto. It comprises 1.96 hectares of old vines facing southeast, planted in socalcos (dry stone terraces) with a planting density of 6,300 plants / hectare. In Quinta do Crasto, an 'old vine' is one that is more than forty years old, while those of Vinha da Ponte are more than one hundred years old. This plot, together with Vinha Maria Teresa, is the oldest on the estate. With its special terroir, Vinha da Ponte is in the middle of the fabulous mosaic of the traditional terraces of the Douro. The privileged aspect oriented to the southeast, the highly stony schist soil and the great diversity of the old and low yield vines allow Vinha da Ponte to produce a wine that is emblematic, not only for the Douro but for the whole country: Quinta do Crasto Vinha da Ponte. The Vinha da Ponte is also the site of careful grape cultivation practices designed to maintain the status quo of the ecosystem, maximizing the heritage of the soil culture and all that is associated with it. The objective is to ensure the sustainability of the territory and the existing biodiversity. The plot of Vinha da Ponte inherited its name from a Roman bridge that runs along and that is part of the National Road 322. All its grapes are destined to the production of the wine Quinta do Crasto Reserva Vinhas Velhas. Then, in exceptional years, the Quinta do Crasto winemaking team chooses to launch a single vineyard wine named after this charismatic plot of old vines.
