TASTING NOTE
Colour
Clean and bright Purple color with slightly violet edging. Very nice to look at.
AROMA:
Very complex and suggestive nose, where it captivates with clear aromas of red fruit, blue flowers and marked lactic tones that are characteristic of Carraovejas wines.
TASTE:
In the mouth it has a powerful and elegant entrance. Where it is presented very well structured and balanced with aromas of spaced and toasted that are manifested from the retro-nasal. Very good minerality, certainly sapid, persistent and with a long journey.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
In 2013 Pago de Carraovejas, to celebrate the 25th anniversary, presented its most unique red wine for its scarcity, identity and essence: El Anejón. It is a wine from a single plot, the Anejón (annex), a small vineyard that is attached to a place known as Cuesta de las Liebres, a unique vineyard arranged in terraces in the heart of the Ribera del Duero.
The plot is located on a slope at 900 m altitude with slopes ranging between 30% and 40% and shows a frank limestone texture of great minerality with presence of white calcareous salts and high degree of compaction. It was planted in 2001, with a Double Cordon Royat cultivation system.
In order to elaborate El Anejón, grapes harvested by hand are used in small volume boxes of the Tinto fino, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties that, after passing through the cold chamber, enter the deposits by gravity. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak vats managed under "Haute futaie", a method that aims to select the best oak and let it grow without competition to be of great quality and vigor. The yeasts and native bacteria of the farm, unique and original, allow maximum expression of the characteristics of the terroir respecting the uniqueness of each vintage.
The wine enters the selected barrels of extra fine grain of French oak, always using gravity. Its aging will last 12 months. Then it will be clarified with egg white and bottled by gravity with natural cork stopper selected
