TASTING NOTE
Colour

Clean and bright. Red color with orange rivet. Medium layer intensity. Very pleasing to the eye.

AROMA:

Nose is very floral, where violet notes and red fruits predominate. Wine with a lot of intensity, elegance and complexity with balsamic notes that highlights the ability to express "terroir" with all its majesty. Minerality in its maximum state.

TASTE:

On the palate it shows a lot of breadth with a long persistence, a round wine where the mineral nuances reappear, along with balsamic tones and lightweight herbaceous notes. Without a doubt, a great wine that makes the difference.

MATCHING
Ideal to accompany it with medium-high taste gustatory dishes, such as grilled meats, stews or even fish such as baked roots.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
La Faraona is a red wine made in D.O Bierzo by Descendants of J. Palacios in the town of Villafranca del Bierzo, León. The winery was created by Álvaro Palacios and his nephew Ricardo in 1999, in love with the potential of the area and the variety of the Mencía grape. La Faraona is a wine from a single vineyard, from the El Ferrol spot on the top of Corullón. It is located 975 meters high and oriented southeast, so it only gives the sun in the morning and on a shallow slate floor. The production of La Faraona is done in a very traditional way, making some very light extractions with the feet and always respecting the grapes until the fermentation ends and it is deposited in barrels. La Faraona is a unique plot in El Bierzo that results in an average of 1000 bottles per year. A wine that represents the place, soil, climate and vineyard turning the Mencía grape into something extraordinary and magical. The 2013 vintage was characterized by the influence of the Atlantic climate. The fall and winter were typically Bercianos, abundant rains and low temperatures. Spring came out in the same way, with some cases of hail that eliminated crops from some places and the consequent delay in flowering. The summer did not make much presence, with low temperatures, maturation and the plant process was slow. Arriving to delay of the date of the harvest 3 weeks. The wines of this vintage are characterized by a thin profile. The Atlantic climate left its mark on lighter wines with a marked acidity. Ready to be saved. It is recommended to decant before consuming. Service temperature 16º.
