INFORMATION OF INTEREST Guidalberto 2018
Colour: Clean, clear and bright. Garnet color with robi reflections, medium - high layer intensity. Very nice to look at.
Aroma: The nose is a good blend of black fruit (blackberry, blueberry) and red (raspberry), and where with an evolution are shown with jam sensations, which go hand in hand with the spices and the most tertiary notes; the earthy and small notes of tobacco leaf.
Taste: On the palate with a very marked density, but the balance is again responsible for offering us in equal parts a sublime precision and elegance, all thanks to polished and velvety tannins. With a long, fresh and persistent finish.
Ideal for a local pairing, and what better than the varied and fantastic cuisine of Tuscany; Papardelle with ragout sauce, Lampredotto (typical dish based on boiled meat, which here would be equivalent to pot meat), lasagna, grilled beef fillets, semi-cured cheeses ... Etc.
Considered the younger brother of the great host Sassicaia who with Tuscan dialect means "place of many stones". A gravel soil comparable to that of the Médoc inspired the Piedmontese Marquis Mario Incisa della Rocchetta to plant the first Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc vineyards in 1944.
Between 1948 and 1967 the final wine of the vineyard was consumed privately, it was the son of Mario, Nicolò who began to market the wine with overflowing success, which helped to describe the Tuscan region of Bolgueri in the world map of the best wines.
It was so successful with Sassicaia that it was granted a designation of origin that would prestige the area, and today Tenuta San Guido is one of the greatest emblems of wine Italy.
