WHO CAN CONTRACT
Pingus is Peter Sisseck, agronomist and winemaker born in 1962 in Copenhagen. Settled in Spain since 1990 and since then has managed to raise their wine to the imaginable highest levels of international recognition.
The creation of the winery Dominio de Pingus, in 1995, was a project that haunted Sisseck head from long ago. Previously, he worked with his uncle, Peter Vinding-Diers, who was one of the initiators of the "new wave" of white wines from Bordeaux in the cellars of Château Rahoul size, in the Graves. He also worked in California with the winemaker Zelma Zong. Despite their different points of view, the experience was very enriching for Peter Sisseck.
When it came to our country, first worked as a winemaker at Pesquera del Duero and later in his fiefdom, which he founded in 1995 in Quintanilla Onesimus (Valladolid), where he traces the wine Pingus.
Dominio de Pingus is part of the so-called “garage wines”. This wine from Ribera del Duero compose a few rows of new oak barrels (about 150), a simple press, a pair of wooden destinations and a steel tank. The low production makes it possible to practice his best in craftsmanship and quality.
Part of the secret of this wine is a fine “Tinta Fina” old grape, grown in an area of five hectares, plus a controlled selection.
