This wine shows a bright, clean, intense and deep. The colour is cherry-red.
Honest nose, with aromas of ripe dark fruit light toasty notes from good wood and sweet spices with elegant balsamic nuances and a long finish with hints of vanilla from the ageing in medium toasted casks made with American white oak.
Powerful, fresh attack with a good development. Meaty, enveloping and well balanced. Silky mouth feel, with sweet, amiable notes against a vanilla background. Long-lasting aftertaste, covered by the elegant freshness of honey, pleasing aromas.
The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
