Colour

Clean, clear and bright. Cherry color with slightly garnet reflections. Medium layer intensity. Very nice to look at.

AROMA:

On the nose, it is elegance personified. The aromatic catalog is infinitely complex, where they are manifested from the primary aromas where the notes of fresh black and red fruit appear, along with the floral touches and ending with the tertiary ones, where the touches of truffle and cocoa end with a unique balance between them.

TASTE:

Fresh and perfectly balanced on the palate, where the tannins caress your palate with all the delicacy and finesse, thus developing a very elegant, long and complex aftertaste.

The perfect choices to accompany this Mencia varietal are the famous León cured meat, Iberian acorn-fed ham, a good mushroom risotto, baked dry partridge rice, grilled lamb, fillet with foie gras, etc.

Under the name of Camino del Norte is one of the most recent projects of the prestigious Bercian producer Raúl Pérez, author of the mythical Últreia and other wines characterized by their low production and good work, where small amounts always favor the product quality.

Raúl has launched this project together with his friend Luis Miguel Fernández, and, as in the rest of his wines, the authenticity of the soils of El Bierzo and the queen variety of the area: the Mencia is maintained.

As an example, we present the first wine created by Camino del Norte, called El Tesón in honor of the centennial Mencías plot from which it comes. It is an exclusive red and not only for the privileged environment in which it is born, but for its production, limited to just over 2,000 bottles.
