Colour

Cherry red, remarkable ruby layer.

AROMA:

Powerful and wide in nose, frank, elegant and complex. Excellent notes of red fruits, black fruits from forest and ripe blackberry. Very interesting notes of charcoal and smoked.

TASTE:

In mouth is tasty, balanced, alive and well structured. Sensations of blueberries, pepper, cocoa… Long end with persistent aftertaste.

Wines with remarkable intensity and gustatory power. Dishes and foods with combinations of interesting and different flavours. Ideal with red meats, beef steak, duck… Dishes with gustatory contrast (sea and mountain); chicken with lobster, pork feet with cryfish.

The medieval town of Laguardia by the foot of the Sierra Cantabria mountain range is an outstanding site chosen by farmers ever since the Neolithic times due to its exceptional climatic and geological characteristics. Here, amongst archaeological remainders, ancient hermitages and churches, lies VIÑEDOS DE PÁGANOS, where the soil lends the vineyard and therefore the wine a unique mineral character with an extraordinary personality. The wines, which originate from the vineyards surrounding the winery, express the single characteristics of this enclave, of the soil and of the perfect adaptation of the Tempranillo variety. Once elaborated, they lie in optimal conditions in underground caves, similar to those built during the XVIth century. Best wine of the World by Wine Enthusiast 2007, for the vintage 2004.
