Colour
Clean and Brilliant Dark cherry color, with reddish reflections. Very nice to look at.
AROMA:
Infinity of very pleasant aromas; where they merge with perfect harmony notes of red and black cherry with sweet spices. Slightly smoked with touches of vanilla, a certain olfactory power and surrounded by a charming minerality.
TASTE:
Entrance with a lot of structure and elegance, in its passage through the mouth is a vibrant Pinot Noir, with explosion of tasty red fruits, accompanied by medium-strength tannins and an incredibly attractive acidity.
MATCHING
An ideal wine to accompany elaborate cooking dishes and a medium to high taste potency. How could they be bird hunting, stewed beef
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Charmes-Chambertin is one of the lesser-known places like Grand Cru, by Gevrey-Chambertin, located on the Gold Coast just below the famous Le Chambertin classic.
It makes some of Pinot Noir's softer wines from the large vineyard section of Gevrey-Chambertin.
The vineyard occupies the lower and shallow slopes of the belt of the big city, near the border with Morey-Saint-Denis. The soils of the vineyard are well drained and stony, with a thin layer of rocky limestone on a deep rocky base. The percentage of clay is slightly reduced towards the highest edge of the site, giving way to a drier and softer limestone.
Due to subtle topographic changes along the slopes, Charmes-Chambertin faces a few points north of the east, which means that its vineyards are not as exposed to the morning sun. This contributes to the fresher and lighter style of their wines, which are consumed better at a younger age than those of their neighbors. Charmes is surrounded by climates that produce structured, full-bodied and daring wines, and its reputation has suffered a bit as a result of this juxtaposition. Charmes-Chambertin was classified as a large crude in 1937, along with its eight large crude neighbors, all of which have the Chambertin suffix. In the nineteenth century, all the climates surrounding the esteemed place of Chambertin began to take over the famous name, as allowed by the Napoleonic law. The wines elaborated in the neighboring site of Mazoyer-Chambertin can also take the name Charmes-Chambertin, although this does not apply upside down.
