WHO CAN CONTRACT
Viticulture has existed around the Castle of La Bleda for over 2,000 years, in the heart of Penedès, the land of origin of the Torres Family. Iberian, Roman, medieval, and pre-phylloxera remains have been found. Since the early 1980s, the winery has been working on the recovery of ancestral varieties to contribute to the restoration of Catalonia's viticultural heritage and find solutions to climate change. Over time, it has been found that some of these varieties, in addition to showing great enological potential, are extremely resistant to high temperatures and drought. One such variety is Moneu, an ancestral grape from Penedès, which was reintroduced by planting it on the grounds of the Castle of La Bleda and is now, with great emotion, incorporated into the Clos Ancestral blend.

The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
