INFORMATION OF INTEREST Chapoutier Barberac 2008
Colour: Intense garnet red. Robe.
Aroma: Nice and lush fragrances of sweet fruits, spice and licorice, cherries in liqueur and balsamic notes. Background of roasted chocolate.
Taste: Sleek and polished with notable body. Round and balanced in palate,reminiscences of candied black fruit and mineral notes. Nice and very persistent finish. Excellent ageing in bottle.
Very suitable for grilled meats, chicken with mustard, baked lamb, pork cheeks confit, beef tenderloin or a good Roquefort cheeses left.
Chapoutier is a producer and distributor of wines from the Rhodan valley. They have a great range of wines and wineries, from all prices and quality. The wines from the Hermitage and Chateauneuf du Pape regions stand out among the rest. The top wine is Chapoutier Barbe Rac, elaborated with more than 100 years old red grenaches. Most of the vines were planted on 1901.
