Colour

Cherry red with purple hues.

AROMA:

Elegant and complex. Include notes of licorice, acacia, blueberry, black raspberry with hints of cedar and mineral.

TASTE:

Awesome texture, rich and creamy. Silky tannins and ripe fruit reminiscent tertiary. Very long and persistent. A splendid Pessac-Léognan expression.

MATCHING
Great with red meat stew, perfect with any grilled meat. Symphony cuisine with game dishes such as venison in red wine or wild boar.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Château Smith Haut Lafitte is a Bordeaux wine from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, ranked among the Grands Crus Classé for red wine in the Classification of Graves wine of 1953 and 1959. The winery and vineyards are located south of the city of Bordeaux, in the commune of Martillac. The vineyard area consists of 67 hectares, 56 hectares of which are planted with grape varieties of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The remaining 11 hectares are cultivated with white varieties of 90% Sauvignon blanc, 5% Sémillon and 5% Sauvignon gris. The winery have two wines the Grand vin Château Smith Haut Lafitte, and the second wine, Les Hauts de Smith.

The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
