The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.

A rather delicious blend with a dominant butterscotch flavour. This could easily enhance any dessert and would be great with vanilla ice cream. I have added a splash of Glayva to it which produced a very interesting blend of whisky, honey and butterscotch that can be enhanced by adding ice and lemonade to make it a long cocktail. Experiment with it to get a taste to suit your own palate. Great value too!
