TASTING NOTE
Colour

Pale yellow, with greenish reflections, bright, clean.

AROMA:

Good aromatic intensity, aromas of green apple, yellow plum, nectarine, along with fresh herbaceous plants, very slightly vegetable aroma of peppermint.

TASTE:

Very fresh, savory, fruity, a good journey through the palate and the work of the lees, a certain creaminess, the taste registers of fresh citrus fruits ( pineapple, grapefruit ) very well intertwined with mineral plants of the territory.

MATCHING
Like good Atlantic wine, with the extraordinary quality of its seafood and fish. Steamed mussels, octopus "a feira", or some grilled scallops and also the most coveted lobster, spider crab ... Creamy cheeses such as Brie, Camembert and Galician octoctones, Tetilla or Arzúa-Ulloa. Countless dishes, Mediterranean cuisine, rice dishes or a Levantine fideuá.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Forjas del Salnés, a small winery, brand and very new project from 2005, but it is the union of Rodrigo Mendez, a benchmark in the Salnés area, with the winemaker Raúl Perez del Bierzo. The Mendez family vines are ancient, some vines are over 100 years old. The work is already started by his great-grandparents. The Albariño Leirana is made from 100% Albariño grapes from vineyards between 40 and 60 years old, planted on sandy and granite soils. Its preparation is traditional. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks and work is done with its own lees, to give it personality, structure, body, flavor, unctuousness and creaminess.

The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
