This wine already shows a complex character, blending hints of fresh cassis with notes of leather, spices and cacaos. Its point of maturity is surprising, perfect to drink immediately as it is an open wine, representative of the zone, but with a consistency and freshness ideal for keeping around for awhile. A wine of balances and complexities, produced with care and careful research into aromatic pleasure.
It has a smooth texture on the palate its strong point resulting from the care taken in its production. The juiciness of the fruit is drunk wrapped in a delicate tannic sensation with a spicy aromaticness on the palate. A wine driven by freshness and subtle flavours.
The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
